Buenos Aires Publishes May 25 Holiday Service Schedule

Nonurgent municipal services are closed, emergency care is operating 24 hours, public transport follows reduced Sunday timetables to accommodate ongoing rail works.

Overview

  • The City of Buenos Aires issued the official schedule for Monday, May 25, closing administrative offices, schools, Registro Civil services for the public, VTV plants and many municipal centers while keeping emergency and critical hospital areas active.
  • Public transport will run on Sunday/holiday timetables with lower frequencies, the subte and premetro operating roughly from 08:00 to 22:00, and buses following reduced service levels that may increase wait times for riders.
  • Several commuter rail services remain limited by infrastructure works, including Sarmiento trains running only between Once and Merlo, the Moreno–Mercedes segment suspended, Puente AlsinaAldo Bonzi out of service, and Roca and Belgrano Sur operating with modified schedules.
  • Parking rules are relaxed for many avenues and streets with paid (medido) parking suspended, but 24-hour bans on Metrobús corridors, passages and streets adjacent to bike lanes remain in force; waste collection will operate as usual.
  • A mix of cultural sites will be open or closed following the city list—Ecoparque, Planetario, Torre Monumental and major museums and theaters will receive visitors—residents and commuters should check operator channels for real-time train and subte updates.
