Budget Sets Aside ₹500 Crore for Former ULFA Families, Adds Northeast Packages and Mental-Health Push

  • The budget launches a Buddhist-circuit development scheme across Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura to promote tourism and heritage sites.
  • Mental-health measures include establishing NIMHANS-2 in the northeastern region and upgrading the Ranchi and Tezpur national mental-health institutes as regional apex centers.
