Overview
- ARMY Perú planted about 2,000 native trees in the Machu Picchu sanctuary under the Environment Ministry’s One Million Trees campaign.
- The drive is led by SERNANP and Profonanpe to restore priority areas damaged by wildfires, vegetation loss and soil degradation.
- Crews used aliso, queñua, chachacomo, tara and sauco, species chosen to help capture water, stabilize soils and rebuild habitat.
- The ministry will issue certificates that recognize a dedicated BTS Forest for participants and supporters of the effort.
- A digital platform is open for global donations to fund more plantings, and fans have linked the project to BTS’s October concerts in Lima to leave a lasting legacy.
