Bruins Hire Kevyn Adams and Reshape Hockey Operations

The club brings in a veteran adviser and elevates internal staff to sharpen player personnel, analytics and salary-cap work before the season.

Overview

  • Kevyn Adams was hired Tuesday as senior advisor to general manager Don Sweeney, returning to an NHL front office after a stint as Buffalo Sabres GM and a 540-game playing career that included a 2006 Stanley Cup.
  • Dennis Bonvie and Jeremy Rogalski were promoted to assistant general managers with Bonvie focusing on player personnel and Rogalski leading analytics and strategy.
  • Alex Gimenez was named director of hockey operations for collective bargaining and will handle contract negotiations, salary-cap management, CBA compliance and player acquisition strategy.
  • The club announced that Evan Gold will leave the Bruins effective August 1 to pursue other NHL opportunities, a departure that follows recent front-office and coaching turnover in the BruinsAHL and PWHL affiliates.
  • The package of hires and promotions adds outside experience and defined roles that could speed contract decisions, cap planning and roster moves, so watch for staff-driven changes to player acquisitions and Providence coaching hires in the weeks ahead.
