Broward Schools Mark Parkland Anniversary With Day of Service and Love

The observance turns remembrance into student-led acts of kindness that support families through community partnerships.

Overview

  • At 10:17 a.m., every campus paused for a moment of silence, led by Superintendent Howard Hepburn with Lori Alhadeff joining the districtwide reflection.
  • Students formed the word “LOVE” at Driftwood Elementary, created a “Path to Kindness” at Deerfield Beach Elementary, and made HeArts & Crafts at South Broward High.
  • Ramblewood Elementary students assembled “Weekend Packs” of food to help children facing hunger.
  • Community Christian Church will distribute the Ramblewood food bags to students and families in need across the area.
  • The eighth annual observance honors the 17 victims of the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, including 14 students and three staff members.
