Brockton Delivery Driver Charged After Alleged Assault of Wheelchair User

Officials say a motor-vehicle stop led to the suspect’s arrest and investigators have not identified the delivery company or the defendant’s attorney.

Overview

  • Police say a man delivering medicine entered a woman’s East Bridgewater home and repeatedly touched her without consent on Sunday, Aug. 2, according to investigators and the victim’s report.
  • Detectives identified the suspect as 39-year-old Qaisar Ali of Brockton and located his white Toyota Camry, which led to a motor-vehicle stop and arrest on Aug. 5.
  • Ali was charged with multiple counts including three counts of assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person, indecent assault and exposure, breaking and entering in the daytime, and assault with intent to commit rape, and he is being held on $10,000 bail.
  • The victim uses a wheelchair and has severe mobility issues, which police say underscores her vulnerability and reliance on in-home medication delivery services.
  • Investigators are continuing their work and prosecutors will review evidence at arraignment as the case raises questions about vetting and oversight of medical delivery personnel.
