British Tourist Dies in Bangkok as Partner Recovers After Suspected Drink Spiking

No official cause has been released despite family accounts of suspected drink spiking.

Overview

  • Tom Pardhy, 38, died in Bangkok on March 6 during a six‑week trip to Thailand with his partner, Naomi Raksha, 31.
  • Raksha was rushed to hospital in a tuk‑tuk, intubated in ICU for suspected poisoning, suffered a cardiac arrest, and says she was resuscitated multiple times before entering rehabilitation.
  • Pardhy was found unresponsive roughly 24 hours after Raksha’s collapse, and his death was confirmed by family on March 11.
  • His family described the death as sudden, accidental and unexpected, and have asked for privacy regarding specific circumstances.
  • The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office says it is supporting the family and liaising with Thai authorities, as relatives fundraise for Raksha’s medical and travel costs.
