British Mother Sought in UK After Failing to Return Two Sons to US Father

Publication of the case with tracing orders seeks to enable return of the boys to Colorado custody.

Overview

  • The two children, five-year-old Blaine and three-year-old Nathaniel, did not return to their father at a UK airport on March 29 after a court-ordered visit and have not been found since.
  • In April a Colorado judge ruled there was a “credible risk” the children faced “imminent danger,” said the mother had “engaged in activities indicating a planned abduction,” and authorised US law enforcement to take custody.
  • Mr Baier has launched High Court proceedings in London and lawyers secured a publication order to help locate the family.
  • The High Court has issued tracing orders to banks, Thames Water and the NHS to find Ms Samaratunga and the boys, but those inquiries have not produced their location.
  • Mr Baier and his lawyers warn both children have autism and say they appear not to be in school or receiving medical care, raising urgent welfare concerns and increasing pressure on cross‑border tracing and enforcement efforts.
