Overview
- Court sources confirmed Monday that an arrest warrant has been issued for 35-year-old Harry James George Saunders after he vanished following his release on bail and his current whereabouts are unknown.
- Spanish public prosecutors have formally indicted Saunders on manslaughter and wounding, and a three-page pre-trial filing alleges he punched the doorman, causing him to fall and hit his head.
- The victim, doorman Jose Rafael Pisani Prado, suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage and facial fractures and died in hospital about 12 hours after the April 16, 2023 incident.
- Police previously arrested Saunders in April 2023 after obtaining CCTV from Olivia's La Cala and with help from the Civil Guard GAR unit, and he was earlier detained in relation to a separate September 2022 shooting inquiry.
- Authorities say they will seek Saunders's return if he is traced, the timing of any trial remains unclear, and prosecutors are also demanding £200,000 in compensation to Prado's family, a claim that would affect the victim's loved ones if upheld.
