Brisbane Leagues Club Stabbing Case Delayed as Accused Remains in Hospital

Police allege the kitchen hand returned hours after being stood down to carry out a targeted knife attack.

  • Cameron William Leslie Clark, 33, was again unable to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court because he is undergoing hand surgery, with the matter adjourned to Friday.

  • Police say he was excluded from Easts Leagues Club at 2pm for giving unwanted and unsolicited attention, then returned about three hours later allegedly armed with a large carving knife.
  • Waitress Zoe Samson-Wood, 20, sustained serious cuts to her head and wrist plus defensive wounds, was discharged from Princess Alexandra Hospital, and required reconstructive surgery for nerve damage.
  • A 61-year-old chef and a 41-year-old female patron were injured while intervening, and up to eight patrons and staff restrained the alleged attacker until police arrived.
