Overview
- Breez disclosed Monday that its SDK now routes payments from users’ Bitcoin balances directly to USDC or USDT recipients on more than 30 blockchains while senders keep BTC until conversion.
- The capability is built on Breez’s Spark Layer 2 and Lightning toolkit and performs conversion during settlement so apps do not need to custody stablecoins or add separate chain integrations.
- Breez relies on external liquidity partners, such as Flashnet and Boltz, to convert Bitcoin into stablecoins and deliver funds to the destination chain.
- The initial rollout is outbound-only, meaning apps can send stablecoins from Bitcoin balances now while receiving stablecoins from external chains is planned for a future update.
- More than 75 apps, including Deblock and Cake Wallet, already integrate the Breez SDK, giving the feature immediate reach for remittance corridors that prefer different chains for fees and local exchange access.
