Brean Theme Park Enters Voluntary Liquidation, Putting 2026 Season in Doubt

The appointment of a liquidator leaves the park's advertised 14 March opening in doubt.

Overview

  • Written resolutions to wind up the company were passed on 28 January, and Nicholas Stafford of Hazlewoods LLP was appointed liquidator, according to a notice in The Gazette.
  • The company is now at the Resolutions for Winding Up stage, which restricts normal trading to actions necessary for the winding-up process.
  • The park's website still lists a 14 March 2026 reopening, and no formal closure date or public statement has been issued by the operator.
  • A spokesperson for the liquidators said visitor numbers have declined since the pandemic and that reduced use of the nearby Pontins site has hurt footfall, while the liquidator said 2025 peak-season revenue was insufficient to carry the business through winter.
  • A spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com that Unity Holidays, Brean Splash, Brean Play and Brean Gym will continue operating and are unaffected by the theme park's liquidation.
