Overview
- The INSS reported on Tuesday that pending benefit requests fell to 1.831 million in June 2026 and that 555,000 cases have waited more than 45 days, which is the subset the government says it will eliminate by September.
- Officials credit a package of operational steps for the drop, including expanded mutirões (special processing drives), the Perícia Conectada telemedicine program with about 700 enabled agencies, and the appointment of 300 social security analysts.
