Brazil Sets New Record for Oil and Gas Output in March

Pre-salt platforms led by Petrobras powered the jump.

  • Brazil produced a record 5.531 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in March 2026, according to the national oil regulator ANP.
  • Crude oil output rose to 4.247 million barrels per day, up 4.6% from February and 17.3% from March 2025.
  • Natural gas production reached 204.1 million cubic meters per day, a 3.3% monthly increase and 23.3% higher than a year earlier.
  • Pre-salt fields set a monthly record at 4.421 million boe/d and supplied 79.9% of national output.
  • Production was concentrated in Petrobras-operated assets, which delivered 88.23% of the total, with Búzios leading in oil, Mero leading in gas, and the Almirante Tamandaré and Guanabara FPSOs topping installation output.
