Brazil Motorcycle Output and Sales Log Best Start Since 2008
The industry group now expects modest 2026 gains driven by strong demand for smaller bikes.
Overview
- Industry association Abraciclo said factories in the Manaus industrial hub built 745,800 motorcycles from January through April, up 10.6% and the strongest first quadrimester since 2008.
- April output reached 184,400 units, a 6.4% yearly gain, and the month-to-month drop was linked to two fewer working days, according to Abraciclo president Marcos Bento.
- Brazilians registered 782,400 motorcycles in the first four months, up 19.1% and a record start for the period, with April at 210,600 registrations.
- Exports rose from a low base to 14,925 units year to date, up 22.7%, with 3,484 shipped in April and volumes still small compared with domestic licensing.
- Abraciclo projects steady full-year growth, targeting 2.07 million motorcycles produced, 2.3 million registered, and about 45,000 exported in 2026.
