Overview
- The industry group now projects 1.95 million motorcycles produced in 2025, up 11.5% year over year, and expects 2.1 million retail registrations, up 11.9%, while keeping its export target at 35,000 units.
- September output reached 169,200 units, a 17.4% annual increase and the best September since 2011, though production fell 9% from August.
- From January to September, factories built about 1.5 million bikes, up 13.1% from a year earlier, and registrations totaled 1.614 million, up 14.4%, with September licensing at 205,900, up 31.5% annually and 11% monthly.
- A 50% U.S. tariff curtailed shipments to the American market, but higher volumes to Argentina, Colombia and new destinations such as Australia and Canada lifted September exports to 5,258 units, up 208.7% year over year and 78.7% from August.
- Low-displacement models up to 160cc accounted for roughly 79% of September output and about 78.5% year to date, supported by delivery demand, cost-conscious buyers and consórcio financing.
