Brazil Military Police Seize 70 Kilos of Suspected Cocaine in Bahia and 494 Street Packets in São Paulo

The arrests highlight enforcement at two points of the cocaine trade, from prepacked doses to a 70‑kilogram cache.

Overview

  • In Feira de Santana, Bahia, officers searched a home on Rua Miranda after reports of drug sales and found about 70 kilograms of a cocaine-like substance.
  • Police arrested a woman at the address and took tools used for processing and packing drugs, including precision scales, a sealer, sieves, mixing basins, protective gear, three phones and a 5.5 caliber air rifle.
  • In a separate patrol in the Pantanal community of Piracicaba, São Paulo, officers detained a man carrying a bag with 494 paper-wrapped portions of cocaine weighing roughly 187 grams.
  • Two cellphones were also seized in the Piracicaba stop, and the detainees and materials were taken to the Plantão Policial and the Central de Flagrantes for booking and legal procedures.
  • Together, the seizures point to bulk storage and processing at the Bahia site and street-level resale in Piracicaba, with the Bahia haul listed as a substance similar to cocaine pending lab confirmation.
