Overview
- Since March police have recorded a series of thefts across several Brandenburg districts that together total more than 200 head of cattle.
- On the night of May 12 several animals were stolen from a remote cowshed in Schenkendöbern and witnesses reported a blue truck while investigators say a 12.5‑ton livestock transporter was likely used to move the animals.
- Brandenburg authorities carried out larger checkpoint controls on the A10 and A15 at the end of May and beginning of June to intercept heavy vehicles and follow transit leads.
- Police have issued a public appeal for dashcam footage and sightings on Bundesstraßen 97, 112 and 115 and on nearby access roads, and they are asking residents to report any escort vehicles or similar trucks.
- Investigators are treating the incidents as connected and are probing a possible cross‑state link to Thuringia, which could broaden the investigation and require interregional cooperation.
