Bradford Police Probe After Woman, 77, Hit by HGV and Carried Miles Before Body Found

Detectives are seeking dashcam footage to map the HGV’s route after the fatal Bradford collision.

Overview

  • The 77-year-old pedestrian was struck by a lorry on Harrogate Road on Wednesday, and her body was later found on Neville Road in East Bowling.
  • Police say the woman was carried by the HGV from the crash site to Neville Road, about three miles away.
  • A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
  • The Major Collision Enquiry Team is asking for dashcam video from the Harrogate Road and Killinghall Road traffic lights and wants to trace drivers of a red Ford Max, a grey Skoda SUV, a silver Toyota, and a white SUV.
  • Officers asked anyone with information to quote log 1331 when contacting 101 or the force’s live chat, and the family is being supported by specialist officers as local councillors offer condolences.
