- On July 21, 2026 the duo released the single and music video “Hard Beat” while publishing the full 12‑song tracklist for Get Mean and opening album pre‑orders.
- Get Mean is scheduled for release on September 18, 2026 through Atlantic Records with a 12‑track lineup that includes previously teased “Jeans” and the new single “Hard Beat.”
- Work on the album began after Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller ended their romantic relationship in early 2024, and the record centers on grief, heartbreak, loss and survival with Matthews saying it was borne from “what I had to give during the most extreme period of my life.”
- The new single blends thumping synths with detuned pads and pop inflections and its video, directed by the duo with cinematographer Owen Smith‑Clark, foregrounds themes of surveillance, deviance, and trauma.
