Boy, 3, Dies After Being Hit by Car in Dublin Shopping Centre Car Park

Gardaí have launched a forensic collision investigation and are asking anyone with camera or dash-cam footage from 8:20 to 9:00am to come forward.

Overview

  • Shortly after 8:40am on Wednesday, 11 March, a child was struck in the underground car park at Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas.
  • The boy was taken by ambulance to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street with serious injuries and was pronounced dead that afternoon.
  • The scene has been preserved as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a technical examination, and inquiries are ongoing.
  • A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to support the child's family.
