Bovensiepen Reveals Spider Roadster Based on BMW Z4

A hand-built run of 99 Spiders upgrades the Z4’s B58 straight-six to about 429–435 bhp, opening orders for deliveries in early 2027.

Overview

  • Bovensiepen publicly revealed the Spider in mid-September 2026 as a two-seat roadster derived from the top-spec BMW Z4 M40i.
  • The company raised output from the B58 3.0-litre twin-scroll turbo straight-six to roughly 429–435 bhp and about 580 Nm while keeping the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
  • Bovensiepen changed the intake, exhaust and cooling systems and retuned dampers to preserve usable performance, and it offers a Performance Pack that adds rear-differential cooling, underbody bracing and a higher top speed.
  • Production is strictly limited to 99 numbered, hand-built examples, priced at €115,500 in Germany with orders open now and first deliveries expected in early 2027.
  • The Spider positions Bovensiepen as a heritage-led boutique maker reviving the lightweight roadster niche with extensive interior personalization and a lower entry price than its earlier Zagato and 05 GT models, which should appeal to collectors and driving purists.
