Boston Police Seek Man in Jamaica Plain Early-Morning Break-Ins

Surveillance images and video have been released as detectives investigate two pre-dawn entries through windows and fire escapes that left residents shaken.

Overview

  • Police say a man entered two occupied apartments on the 100 block of Heath Street, first in the pre-dawn hours on Sunday and again on Wednesday, using windows or a fire escape to get in and out.
  • In the Sunday incident a woman reported a flashlight in her bedroom, found the intruder in her bathroom and later said a laptop, a Kindle and a purse were stolen.
  • In the Wednesday episode a resident told officers the suspect climbed through his bedroom window while he slept and tried to pull the blanket off before fleeing back out the same window.
  • Boston Police released three surveillance photos and video showing a slim Black male in his late teens or early 20s, and a 22-year-old victim told reporters she recognizes the person in those images.
