Bombardier Delivers First Africa‑Based Global 8000 to Nigeria’s BUA Group

Dubai-based Gulf Wings will manage the jet from the UAE to provide non-stop links between Lagos and major global business hubs.

Overview

  • Bombardier handed over the Global 8000 to BUA Group at its Montreal completion centre, a delivery announced June 16, 2026 that the company says will enter service in the coming days.
  • The Global 8000 is certified for an 8,000‑nautical‑mile range and an official top speed of Mach 0.95, enabling true non‑stop flights from Lagos to destinations such as Los Angeles, Perth and Tokyo.
  • Dubai-based Gulf Wings will add the type to the fleet it manages for BUA and operate the aircraft from its UAE base, continuing a management relationship the parties say has lasted several years.
  • BUA’s chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, described the jet as a tool for maintaining productivity on long missions; Bombardier says this delivery is the third new aircraft it has supplied to BUA.
  • The Global 8000 program entered service in December 2025 and has been delivered to private operators as production ramps, so this African entry signals growing demand for ultra‑long‑range business jets among multinational firms.
