Body of Missing NKU Student Found in Wilder

Located by an independent volunteer search team, the body now awaits an official cause and manner of death from the Campbell County coroner.

Overview

  • Covington police said the body of 22-year-old Northern Kentucky University student Murry (Alexis) Foust was found in Wilder on Sunday by an independently organized search party.
  • The remains were located near 1 Steel Plant Road in an industrial area across the Licking River from where Foust was last seen in Covington’s Latonia neighborhood.
  • Authorities say there are currently no indications of foul play and investigators from Covington and Wilder police are working with the Campbell County Coroner’s Office, which will issue the official cause and manner of death.
  • The discovery follows weeks of multi-agency and community searches that used drones, K9 teams, water-rescue units and volunteer groups after Foust was reported missing on April 27 and items including a backpack, phone and car were recovered during the search.
  • Northern Kentucky University offered counseling to students, the family has asked for privacy, and loved ones are memorializing Foust while officials say no further details will be released until the coroner’s findings are complete.
