Overview
- Gerard Boucher, 72, was found around 9:30 a.m. Friday in a marsh about half a mile northeast of the Bee’s River parking lot, police said.
- His wife, Kathleen “Kit” Boucher, 71, was recovered by divers on Feb. 14 after officers first heard her calls for help about 30 feet from shore.
- Crews from multiple agencies used dive teams, drones and other resources during searches that were repeatedly limited by unstable ice and tides.
- Two Eastham officers fell through the ice during the initial rescue attempt and were evaluated at Cape Cod Hospital before being released.
- The couple’s dog was secured by animal control and reunited with family, and public visitation and a memorial Mass are set for Feb. 27–28 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Orleans.
