- The National Basketball Coaches Association formally presented Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo with the 2026 Tex Winter Assistant Coach Lifetime Impact Award in Las Vegas.
- NBCA President J. B. Bickerstaff praised McAdoo as a ‘true giant’ whose teaching, humility and work shaped generations of players and coaches.
- McAdoo said he was grateful and humbled by the selection and thanked his wife Patrizia, Pat Riley, and the Heat organization for their support.
- As an assistant, McAdoo spent 19 seasons with the Miami Heat, compiled an 880–630 record with 16 playoff appearances, and helped the team reach five NBA Finals and win titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013.
- The Tex Winter Award is chosen annually by an NBCA selection committee of veteran coaches and executives and this year’s nominees included long‑time assistants such as Bob Beyer, Dan Burke and Jeff Bzdelik, highlighting the award’s role in recognizing often unseen coaching work.
