BNDES Approves R$1.7 Billion to Back Embraer’s Sale of 13 E-175 Jets to SkyWest

The dollar-paid export credit under BNDES Exim Pós-Embarque is designed to bolster Brazil’s foreign currency inflows.

Overview

  • Deliveries are slated from the fourth quarter of 2025 through the end of 2026.
  • SkyWest, based in Utah, is the world’s largest E-175 operator with 265 in service and a projected 279 by late 2026.
  • The bank reports 2025 disbursements supporting Embraer exports have reached R$3.4 billion when including previously approved operations.
  • BNDES says it has financed US$26.7 billion for more than 1,350 Embraer aircraft since 1997 to maintain competitive conditions.
  • The financing follows recent U.S. tariff changes that kept civil aircraft at a 10% rate, as Embraer advances a US$500 million plan to expand manufacturing and maintenance in the United States.
