BMW Opens U.S. Orders for 2027 iX3 With 434-Mile Range and $61,500 Base Price

The launch showcases BMW's Neue Klasse platform in a bid to restart U.S. EV momentum.

Overview

  • BMW’s U.S. configurator, which went live Wednesday, confirms a $61,500 base price plus $1,350 destination, $1,000 reservations, and deliveries targeted for late September.
  • BMW lists an EPA-estimated maximum of 434 miles for the iX3 50 xDrive with no-cost 20-inch summer tires, while the standard 20-inch all-seasons are rated at 383 miles and larger wheels trim range further.
  • The first Neue Klasse model uses an 800‑volt system that BMW says can charge at up to 400 kW, adding about 185 miles in 10 minutes or going from 10% to 80% in roughly 21 minutes on compatible DC fast chargers.
  • At launch the 50 xDrive comes in Sport, M Sport, and M Sport Professional trims priced at $61,500, $64,000, and $65,500 before destination, with an effective starting price that undercuts BMW’s gas X3 M50.
  • BMW reports strong early demand with more than 50,000 European orders and says over half of current global X3 orders are for the iX3, a signal that could push rivals to sharpen range and pricing.
