BMW Driver Arrested After East Yorkshire Crash That Injured Woman and Four Children

Police issue a witness appeal during an ongoing investigation.

  • A head-on collision on New Ellerby Road near Burton Constable at about 4:30pm on 6 March involved a northbound white BMW and a grey Toyota traveling the opposite way.
  • A 53-year-old woman and four children from the Toyota were taken to hospital, with one child reported to have life-changing injuries.
  • The woman and another child sustained serious injuries not thought to be life-changing, and two other children were treated for their injuries at hospital.
  • A 44-year-old man, identified by police as the BMW driver, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving over the legal alcohol limit, and failing to provide a specimen.
  • Humberside Police are seeking witnesses and any CCTV or dashcam footage and ask callers to quote log 317 of 6 March as the investigation continues.
