BMC Targets May 31 Opening for GMLR Flyover as Work Hits 75%

City officials ordered extra crews to finish the DindoshiFilm City span before monsoon.

  • Civic engineers report 75% completion with 30 of 31 pillars erected and 17 of 30 spans finished on the Dindoshi Court–Film City flyover.
  • Additional municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar inspected the site and directed deployment of more manpower and machinery with firm timelines for beams, deck slab casting, and approach roads.
  • The flyover is part of Phase 3(A), built in two sections with an elevated rotary, curving 90 degrees near Ratnagiri Junction Hotel before descending near Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari.
  • The 12.2‑km GMLR will connect the Western and Eastern Express Highways and is expected to cut GoregaonMulund travel time from about 75 minutes to roughly 25 minutes while improving fuel use and air quality.
  • The final consignment of a second tunnel boring machine has reached the launching shaft, with assembly and lowering planned from March and tunnelling slated to begin around June 2026.
