- Additional municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar directed that all major structural work be finished by May 31 with surfacing to follow.
- Work on the eastern side, including the solid approach and bridge surfacing, is targeted for completion by February 28.
- On the western side, six piers are complete while four piers, bridge spans and approach roads remain pending, with traffic diversion cited as a key constraint.
- The two-lane structure spans about 650 metres with a 100-metre bridge over the tracks, 220 metres of eastern approach and 330 metres of western approach, and it includes new access links into Vidyavihar station with reconstructed ticket counters, offices and staircases.
- The project, proposed in 1991 and tendered in 2016 at an estimated cost of Rs 178 crore, is expected to cut current 30–45 minute detours to under 10 minutes once operational.
