Blizzard Removes Mythic Equip Cap and Raises Diablo 4 Drop Rates

The hotfix aims to fix poor Unique and Iconic Mythic access, with the developer scheduling further loot boosts next week.

Overview

  • Blizzard confirmed late Thursday that a hotfix released July 16 removes the one-crafted-Mythic equip restriction and increases Mythic drop rates from the Corrupted Reaper.
  • Removing the cap lets players equip multiple crafted and naturally dropped Mythics at once, restoring value to both Pandemonium Fragment and Resplendent Spark crafting routes.
  • The team said a follow-up patch next week will add Superior Lair Keys to the Glints of Hope repeatable cache and raise Mythic Tribute drop rates in the Kurast Undercity.
  • The update also fixed an unintended change that allowed the Mythic modifier on Unique Charms and Seals in the Cube, and developers said they are still investigating Iconic Mythic natural drop odds.
  • After nearly three weeks of player complaints about finding zero Unique Mythics, Blizzard framed Season 14 as experimental and responsive, which may lead to more midseason tuning and prompt players to return to farming.
