Overview
- Blizzard revealed World of Warcraft Forever at BlizzCon 2026 and made the build playable on the show floor, with a public beta beginning September 17 and a full launch scheduled for November 4, 2026.
- Forever is a “time bubble” set in year one of vanilla WoW that locks the level cap at 60 and expands the game horizontally with three new zones, overhauled classic zones, more than 1,000 new quests, a new battleground, nine dungeons, and two raids.
- The project introduces a new playable race called the Skyborne Elves and adds new professions, reputations, updated visuals, and level-60 progression systems that grow without raising the cap.
- Players with active WoW subscriptions will get access at launch but early beta entry requires pre-purchasing Blizzard’s paid upgrade packs, which also include early name reservation and cosmetic bonuses.
- Blizzard also teased two new Warcraft III: Reforged campaigns and editor and graphics updates, and the Forever reveal signals a multi-track strategy for the franchise while leaving open questions about how Forever’s timeline will relate to Retail WoW.
