Black Ops Royale Brings Blackout-Style Battle Royale to Warzone on March 12–13

The free mode drops Warzone’s staples in favor of scavenging on an overhauled Avalon with returning Black Ops tools.

Overview

  • Activision and Treyarch announced Black Ops Royale as a permanent, free Warzone mode that is integrated with Black Ops 7/Warzone progression.
  • The mode launches with Season 2 Reloaded on March 12–13 by region, going live in the U.S. late on March 12 (nighttime local times reported).
  • Core rules shift to 100 players in 25 squads with wingsuit ingress, no loadouts, no Gulag, no buy stations or cash, and second chances via Redeploy Tokens or squad-captured Redeployment Towers.
  • Looting centers on Black Ops 7 gear only, using fixed weapon archetypes with attachment-kit rarity upgrades up to Legendary, plus a perk system built around five swappable consumable boosts.
  • Avalon is reworked for BR with added land connections and features optional activities and Cradle Breaches that spawn hallucinated zombie hordes and a Mangler boss for high-tier rewards, with quads as the only playlist at launch.
