BJ's Recalls Wellsley Farms Salmon After FDA Detects Listeria in Random Test

The recall follows an FDA random test that found Listeria monocytogenes in a sample.

Overview

  • The action targets lot 3896 of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon sold in 2-pound bags with UPC 888670025963.
  • Affected packages were sold from January 31 to February 7 at BJ's stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
  • No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the recalled product.
  • BJ's is notifying members who may have purchased the salmon, and customers can call 1-888-628-0730 for refund and disposal instructions.
  • Distributor Slade Gorton & Co. initiated the voluntary recall and is investigating the source of contamination, as listeria poses higher risks to pregnant people, newborns, older adults and immunocompromised individuals.
