- BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao, speaking on Tuesday, June 9, demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy account for two-and-a-half years in office and accused the state of slow procurement that forced farmers to sell below the minimum support price.
- Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka responded the same day with a published Rabi procurement figure of 72.30 lakh metric tonnes and said the state bought rain-damaged paddy at MSP to protect farmers.
- The state also pledged to procure every grain produced regardless of the Centre’s role and noted it is among the few states buying maize at the announced support price.
- Rao said the Centre will help Hyderabad projects such as Metro expansion only after the state completes DPRs and land acquisition, and he listed wider governance complaints about pensions, Rythu Bharosa and delayed salaries.
- Procurement involves state yield estimates, local registration and warehousing plus FCI purchases at the Centre, so the dispute matters to farmers who face short-term cash pressure and to voters judging whether promised welfare and infrastructure delivery is real.
