Bitmine Nears 5% of Ethereum After Buying 32,447 ETH

Raising projected staking revenue, the purchase removes large amounts of ETH from liquid markets and sharpens questions about liquidity and regulation.

Overview

  • The company disclosed Monday that it added 32,447 ETH, bringing total holdings to 5,847,611 ETH and putting it about 97% of the way to its self‑set 5% supply target.
  • Bitmine has staked roughly 5.07 million ETH through its MAVAN validator network, which the firm values as generating about $330 million a year at current yields.
  • The firm values its ETH at about $14.6 billion and reports total crypto and related assets near $14.9 billion, while remaining roughly 187,000 ETH short of the 5% mark.
  • The latest buy came as Ethereum surged roughly 30–35% over the prior week, a rally that lifted BMNR shares about 8% and increased the market value of Bitmine’s treasury.
  • Concentrated holdings and heavy staking cut immediately tradable supply, pose liquidity and regulatory risks, and do not give Bitmine control over Ethereum protocol or governance.
