Overview
- U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in about $987 million and spot Ethereum ETFs added roughly $215 million for a combined weekly inflow near $1.20 billion in the week ending Sept. 4.
- A single trading day produced the bulk of the move, with roughly $731 million of Bitcoin ETF inflows recorded on Sept. 3 according to multiple data providers.
- BlackRock-led products were the largest beneficiaries, with its Bitcoin and Ethereum funds accounting for the majority of weekly receipts and roughly $691.5 million of Bitcoin inflows for the five sessions.
- Ethereum ETF demand cooled sharply, falling about 74% from the prior week even though the category remained net positive over the period.
- The flows came as investors reacted to Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller's remarks and August U.S. labor data, and they leave ETF demand sensitive to the Sept. 11 CPI report and the Fed's Sept. 16 policy decision.
