Overview
- The 15-year-old, who was 14 at the time of the offences, was sentenced in Birmingham to a minimum of 13 years for murdering Leo Ross.
- In the fatal attack on 21 January 2025 in Shire Country Park, Hall Green, Ross was stabbed as he walked home from Christ Church secondary academy, and police found no prior link between the pair.
- The defendant pleaded guilty to murder as well as two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and additional assault charges tied to earlier attacks.
- Investigators said he discarded the knife in the River Cole, remained at the scene, and falsely told officers he had found the boy's body.
- The Crown Prosecution Service called the killing an act of senseless violence, and reporters noted the teen showed no visible reaction as the boy's foster family wept in court.
