Overview
- Birla Corporation, which reported audited FY26 results Saturday, posted total income up 5% to ₹9,772.56 crore and net profit of ₹557.58 crore.
- The March quarter profit rose 14.8% to ₹294.77 crore as total income held at ₹2,875.07 crore and revenue from operations reached ₹2,836.12 crore.
- Cement operations set records with 18.72 million tonnes of sales, 19 million tonnes of production, and 95% capacity use after Kundanganj Line III lifted annual capacity to 21.4 million tonnes in March.
- Costs stayed heavy, with FY26 power and fuel at ₹1,754.74 crore and transport at ₹2,144.10 crore, while the jute unit cut output to 110 tonnes a day as raw jute prices jumped 92% year on year and revenue slipped to ₹120.14 crore.
- Management said price hikes show mixed traction and warned that early FY27 performance will hinge on tough competition, new capacity additions, tensions in West Asia, and the progress of the monsoon.
