- CBS and Dick Clark Productions said Thursday that Idol will receive the American Music Awards’ Lifetime Achievement Award and perform a career-spanning medley.
- The May 25 show will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with Queen Latifah as host.
- The performance will be his first ever at the AMAs and his first appearance on the show since he presented in 2004.
- The honor follows his 2025 studio album Dream Into It and the 2026 Jonas Åkerlund documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead, with his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction set for November.
- Previous Lifetime Achievement recipients include Diana Ross and Rod Stewart, and this year’s AMAs will feature Karol G’s special honor along with performances by Hootie & the Blowfish, KATSEYE, Keith Urban, Maluma, Teddy Swims and Twenty One Pilots.
