Billy Elliot Revival Taps Four Young Dancers for U.K. Tour and West End Return

The production reunites the original creative team to link the show’s established legacy with a new generation of trained young performers.

Overview

  • Producers Universal Theatrical Group and Working Title Films announced on Thursday that Noah Mannion, Rafferty Smale, Spencer Collins and William Gurney will share the title role while original cast member Liam Mower returns as Older Billy.
  • The tour opens at Sunderland Empire on November 4, 2026, then plays Palace Theatre Manchester and Edinburgh Playhouse before a limited West End season at the Adelphi Theatre from February 12 to July 31, 2027.
  • The revival reunites director Stephen Daldry with writer Lee Hall, composer Elton John and choreographer Peter Darling, and credits key designers and musical team members from the original production.
  • Producers and casting notes stress the boys’ elite dance training and say the four will rotate the role because of its intense physical demands and child-performance regulations.
  • Further adult casting and additional tour dates have not yet been released and the run builds on a show seen by millions and widely awarded in its earlier international life.
