Bills Hold First Public Practice at New Highmark Stadium as Coaches Run a Night-Game Trial

The Blue & Red session served as an operational rehearsal to test play-clock placement, sightlines and sideline-to-booth communication before preseason play.

The Bills closed training camp at St. John Fisher and on Saturday night held the first public event at Highmark Stadium to give players and staff a stadium rehearsal.
Head coach Joe Brady set the practice up to resemble a night game so coaches could test play-clock locations, their vantage points under lights, wind effects and sideline-to-booth communications.
Thousands of fans attended, social media circulated on-field moments such as Josh Allen connecting with DJ Moore and Cole Bishop’s interception, and the team added a second Blue & Red date because of high demand.
Event operations followed the team’s public plans with Nazareth University shuttle parking, clear-bag and screening rules for entry, and on-site safety programming including hands-only CPR taught via UR Medicine’s mobile kiosk.
The move into Highmark Stadium caps a multi-year, roughly $2.2 billion build and now shifts Buffalo’s focus to preseason tests including the Aug. 15 game versus Carolina.
