BIG's EVE Music Hall Nears Completion in Čepin

The 10,000 m² complex uses local limestone, mass timber to form two acoustically separated halls that aim to boost tourism and events in Slavonia with a March 2027 opening.

Overview

  • Bjarke Ingels Group and developer Marko Pipunić unveiled new images and hosted a site presentation on Thursday, showing construction advancing and confirming a targeted opening in March 2027.
  • The project covers about 10,000 m² and is organized as two volumes around a shared foyer: a larger live-music hall and a smaller multipurpose congress hall that can operate independently.
  • Project-released figures put indoor capacity at nearly 4,000 people, the main hall at 1,021 fixed seats rising to about 2,800 in concert mode, the secondary hall at 308 seats, and outdoor festival grounds for up to 25,000 attendees.
  • The buildings are clad in locally sourced Slavonian limestone that folds like theatrical curtains and use mass-timber interiors and mirrored surfaces to shape a warm, flexible public foyer.
  • Backed by the Žito Group, the privately funded development is billed as BIG’s first completed project in Croatia and is positioned to drive regional cultural programming, tourism and jobs in Slavonia if delivery and operations proceed as planned.
