Bethesda Confirms Fallout 5 Preproduction, Obsidian Fallout Project and Two Classic Remasters

The studio is reorganizing teams and a shared engine to speed deliveries and expand the franchise across games, live updates, museums and TV.

Overview

  • Bethesda, which published a studio update Friday, said Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction and remains a long‑range priority.
  • The company officially confirmed a separate Fallout project being developed with Obsidian Entertainment and said more details will come later.
  • Remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in development with no release dates announced.
  • Fallout 76 will get a major expansion called Raven Rock in 2027 that Bethesda says serves as a prequel to Fallout 3.
  • Bethesda said The Elder Scrolls VI is its primary focus and that both ES6 and Fallout 5 are being built on Creation Engine 3 to let teams work on multiple major projects while the studio pursues TV tie‑ins, an unscripted Fallout Shelter show with Amazon/Kilter Films, and a World of Fallout museum expansion previewed at Comic‑Con.
