Berlin Police Investigate Two Overnight Shootings in Spandau and Tempelhof

A special LKA unit now leads the probe into attacks on a home and a driving school.

Overview

  • Police said a masked person shot at a house in Spandau around 1:40 a.m. and ran off on foot as officers found multiple bullet holes.
  • About two hours later, residents on Tempelhofer Damm reported gunfire, and police found several bullet holes in the window of a driving school.
  • The LKA’s special unit BAO Ferrum took over both cases, a team created to target violent groups and gun crime.
  • Investigators have named no suspects and reported no arrests as forensic teams document damage at both scenes.
  • The cases come during a run of shootings that included strikes on a Neukölln auto parts shop and a Reinickendorf driving school, and Prosecutor Ingrid Jaeger has called curbing gun violence a top priority.
