Berlin Launches 'Warmes Licht und kühles Bier' Industrial Heritage Bike Route

City officials pitch the ride as a low‑impact way to explore Berlin’s industrial past.

Overview

  • The 25‑kilometre loop links 18 industrial‑heritage sites and starts and ends at the Deutsches Technikmuseum in Kreuzberg.
  • The signed course runs through Kreuzberg, Mitte, Wedding, Gesundbrunnen and Prenzlauer Berg on bike lanes and side streets.
  • Riders can stop at nine gaststätten located at industrial‑era sites along the way.
  • Navigation relies on 85 waymarkers and 100 route plaques, with guides offered in German and English as flyers, PDFs, GPX files and on Komoot.
  • The route debuts the first of eight planned rides developed by the Berliner Zentrum Industriekultur with the transport administration and Visit Berlin, which say it supports climate‑friendly tourism.
