Bengaluru Sets Footpath Rules, Towing Drive and Flex-Banner Fines After GBA Meet

  • The government will bar vending on main and sub-main roads and assign designated spots only to registered vendors with ID cards, with 60,000 registrations reported and a tender issued for requested carts.
  • Each city corporation has two tow trucks to remove vehicles parked in no-parking zones in coordination with police.
  • Abandoned vehicles will be shifted to designated dumping sites at Bellahalli, Bidaganhalli, Biddanahalli and Sondekoppa, with more locations to follow.
  • Unauthorised flex banners will attract fines ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh per banner, with police and civic bodies responsible for enforcement.
  • Detailed parking rules will be released Saturday, and corporations will set park timings in consultation with local MLAs.
