Bengaluru Police Arrest Bhopal Engineer in Illegal Arms Case, Recover Five Guns

Investigators now report a total of five firearms seized in the case.

Overview

  • The CCB’s Economic Offences Wing registered an Arms Act case on February 25.
  • Two suspects — Javed Alam, 19, and Syed Masood, 26 — were earlier arrested in Bengaluru with a .32 pistol and about 50 live rounds, and they identified Irfan as their supplier.
  • A CCB team apprehended Irfan at his Bhopal residence on March 12 and, based on interrogation, seized three country-made pistols, a dismantled revolver, and two live rounds.
  • Police say the investigation now accounts for five firearms in total and more than 50 rounds recovered across the linked arrests.
  • Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said teams are tracing the manufacturing source and wider network, and police suspect Irfan may not be the main supplier.
